Warning: the following post is a lot of venting.
The vacuum broke a few days ago. So did the computer. We knew the computer needed to be replaced, it had been teetering on the edge for about a year. And the vacuuming just stopped sucking up stuff. I pulled it apart, cleaned it out, and it didn't work any better. After a lot of research I found the vacuum I want. A dyson ball. Unfortunately its somewhere between $320 and $450. So I ordered a replacement part for the one I have. Hopefully it will get us through until I can save up for a dyson. It's surprisingly stressful to not have a working vacuum. Maybe I have a little OCD when it comes to cleaning. Who knew?
Luckily, we had been saving for the computer. But it was still sad to see it go. Cory did a lot of research at work and picked a new computer. I know nothing about it, but it seems to work fine.
Kylie has thrown up multiple times a day for the past since Tuesday. Apparently she has a stomach flue. So she is now on a diet of pedialite and saltines. She's not really happy about it; but doctors orders. The worst part is that I can't take her anywhere fun and we are feeling pretty cooped up.
I finally went to the eye doctor a few days ago. The good news is my prescription hasn't changed much. The bad news is I am not a candidate for lasik eye surgery. Most eyes function as a pair. Right eye looks up, so does the left. Left eye looks sideways, so does the right. You get the idea. But mine function independently from each other. So to avoid seeing double my brain ignores my right eye. This makes my right eye weaker than my left. And since error is possible with lasik, they are very hesitant to do the surgery on someone that doesn't have a good 'back-up' eye. This also explains why I had to wear a patch when I was little.
The lady that lives upstairs had a minor heart attack earlier this week. I think it's officially call an angina attack or something. So things have been a little rough for her. She for gets a lot and gets confused easily. I don't ever want to get old.
The door handle broke yesterday. What a chore fixing that turned out to be! Thelma and I went to Home Depot to get a new knob. I tried to talk her into one, but she really wanted a different one. And since it's her house and her money I figured 'oh, well' and let her get what she wanted. Then her son came over today and argued with her about what a bad choice she made. He is so rude to her I can't hardly stand it. And it's all so unnecessary. The then really helpful/slightly controlling neighbors insist that Cory take the handle back and get a specific brand. So he did. But Home Depot doesn't carry that brand. So he went to Lowe's. Turns out the brand they wanted was bought out ,y the brand we bought originally. Awesome. But, about 4 hours later, the knew knob was in place. Let's just hope it works when I go to the baptism tomorrow.
That's the highlight of the weekend. A sweet little boy in the primary class is getting baptized tomorrow and he is really excited about it.
We also returned a broken weed eater. Hopefully the new one works better tomorrow. Go Toro!
Phew! That was a lot. Hopefully tonight is vomit-less.
